Sarah and I took a long weekend for ourselves. Sarah's parents graciously watched Benjamin so we could get away for a weekend before the new baby comes. We spent 3 nights at a The Homestead Bed & Breakfast in Bardstown, KY. We saw most of the sites in Bardstown, checked out an Abbey in Gethsamanie, KY, walked a trail at Bernhaim Forrest near Louisville, ate dinner at one of our favorite resturants in Louisville, and had dessert at the infamous Homemade Ice-cream and Pie Kitchen. We talked about the upcoming arrival of the new baby and discussed our plans for the time around the due date. We took the back road highways from Bardstown to Bowling Green on our way home instead of the interstate. It's was a good weekend and nice to finally spend a few days on a semi-vacation.
I've added a few pictures to a flickr site. I'll be added a few more in the next several days. If you want to look at all of them go the http://www.flickr.com/photos/hrlittlephotos and click on 2007. Hope you enjoy.

Sunday Afternoon
It's Sunday afternoon, little Benjamin and Sarah are both taking an afternoon nap. I've been playing around with some of my photos. We've had a nice weekend. We talked with several family members, had our friend David and his son Issac over for dinner yesterday, talked with another set of close friends about their interest in adoption, and had good fellowship after church today with friends here in Berea. One of our neighbors and their 2 1/2 year old son dropped by yesterday for a quick visit - which turned out a little longer because Benjamin needed to show him some of his toys.
You can check-out a few link's I added on the right. One is another photo link and the other is for a link is for a Hurricane Katrina partnership between the town of Wilmore, KY and Pass Christian, MS. You can click through this one and get fairly current coverage on what is going on along the Mississippi Gulf Coast.

Top 10 Things I learned from my recent trip to MS
- If you load 20 gauge shells in a 12 gauge gun you better hope that all that happens is that your gun doesn't fire
- Fishing with dead previously frozen minnows is not as efficient as live ones
- You have a better chance of catching a variety of things by alternating bait on trot-line hooks
- When totaling your catch from fishing - do you count snakes and gars?
- Big fish are more fun to catch and clean than smaller ones
- Fishing Worms will begin to dry-out if left in the inside a car all day
- Both Old and Young tire easily after to going to bed late and getting up early several days in a row
- Some people really can sleep anywhere
- It's always nice to have a couple of paddles handy just in case the boat decides to "run out of gas"
- You know the color of you neck - when your whole family sits around having a good time while cleaning a Budweiserer cooler full of fish

Battle of Richmond
On Saturday afternoon I took my 2 nieces Katie & Crystal to the Battle of Richmond Civil War Reenactment. It really turned out to be a really great experience - it was fun to watch them look at the merchandise and period clothing that various vendors had. They must have tried on a dozen bonnets and hats. The loved seeing the various outfits that the ladies wore and some of the different soldier’s outfits. Watching their expression when the cannons first fired was priceless. I took a few photos and somehow the girls ended up getting their picture on the front page of the Sunday edition of the Richmond, KY newspaper. I also managed to snap a few pictures. You can check them out by clicking here
